FUNG arranges a secret meeting between the mother and son in the cell, but LUI heaps mockeries on PIK. Outside the palace, PIK begs to meet the emperor on her knees. FUNG propels her to leave. PIK challenges LUI’s arrest as FUNG’s desperate attempt to keep his job and refuses to accept the explanation he offers……
