HUNG tells YAN if he wants to eat with them then he needs to pay for the meals. He agrees. Then she hands him a beggar’s bowl, implying that what he is doing now is no different than asking for food. The water stops suddenly when YAN is taking a shower. HUNG tells him only the first minute of the shower is free. YAN wants to go to TAN’s room to chat with her but HUNG forbids him. TAN asks YAN out. When she hands over him a separation agreement his excitement turns into disappointment. YAN practices guitar in his room. HUNG sings out loudly and minces pork in the sitting room with a view to disturbing him. YAN looks for TAN in her company. Everybody is surprised to know that he is TAN’s husband. YAN is picking up a very important friend at the airport. He hopes that TAN will go with him but she turns him down resolutely.
