A sniper takes a shot at the woman, then falls to his apparent death after being confronted by Nick. When the body disappears, Nick suspects Immortal involvement. Amanda is cagey when he questions her, because she knows the Immortal involved: Morgan Kenworth, an old friend whose adopted son was killed by a man named Grady back in the 1890s. Not only did Morgan kill Grady, but he's been killing the man's descendants, ""the best and brightest of each generation,"" ever since. And of course, Nick's client is next on his list. Amanda tries to keep Morgan and Nick from meeting, but eventually Nick tracks Morgan to his silver shop, where he manages to shoot a pane of glass which falls and severs Morgan's head.
