Gilda devises a plan to free Darian, but he manages to escape from prison on his own. During the escape, Adrian manages to save a girl from three delinquents, but succumbs in the fight and loses his memory. He is thus found by Toni, a former-surgeon-turned-tramp, who takes care of him.
