They see the traditional houses and learn about their clothing, special headdress and their daily life. Next, they go to the Damara region of Twyfelfontein to see the famous rock carvings of animals made by the indigenous people of the area thousands of years ago. They also see an impressive petrified forest of petrified trees that came to the area by rivers from Central Africa millions of years ago. The trek continues along the coast to the Atlantic Ocean, home to the vast Namib Desert, from which the country takes its name. They explore the world-famous Skeleton Coast, where they see a huge colony of seals. This episode ends at one of the many shipwrecks that can be seen on the country's endless coastline.
